Chenin Blanc is believed to be one of the first varietals to ever be brought to South Africa. Chenin Blanc or “Steen” as it is commonly known here is arguably one of the most versatile grapes in the Country. Used to make Brandy, MCC or Dessert wine this versatility and the varietals inherent adaptability has made in immensely popular and the varietal is planted in all of South Africa’s wine growing regions.
The Chenin Blanc on the farm varies in age from 10-35 years and every year we blend a combination of all the different blocks in order the create a wine that is balanced and celebrates the best characteristics from both old and new vineyards. With north facing slopes the farm offers a nice fruit balance to the varietal’s natural acidity.
The Blind Faith Chenin Blanc aims to be the perfect everyday drinking wine. Offering exceptional quality at an affordable price. Zesty and fresh on the nose complimented by soft tropical fruits on the palate. A balance between the inherent characteristics of the cultivar and the meso-climate on the farm.
This wine pairs exceptionally with rich fish dishes, chicken, pasta or any dish that has a nice rich buttery base where the acidity will simply cut through.
