The Goede Hoop Heritage Collection was introduced in 2010 to celebrate the pinnacle of what the farm has to offer. The idea is to create wines that showcase the best of the farm at that specific time. This implies that no two vintages will ever be the same. An absolute focus on what made the year special to celebrate what our unique terroir has to offer. If a vintage does not satisfy our standards the wine will not be produced. Handcrafted from start to finish using traditional methods to create an exclusive volume of exceptional quality wine.
The PJ Bestbier MCC is a traditional blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. The grapes are handpicked and whole bunch pressed in our basket press. The juice is then barrel fermented and matured for 12 months before bottling for second fermentation. Our 2016 MCC spent 30 months on the lease before degorging. Allowing for an elegant bubble and full rounded taste. All of our MCC’s to date are Zero Dosage, which means that no adjustments were necessary during the degorging process.
Only 650 bottles of the PJ Bestbier MCC is produced each year with the 2016 vintage due for release shortly. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter to be notified about our release date for the PJ Bestbier MCC.
